10 THINGS THAT REQUIRE ZERO TALENT

How often do we equate success with talent? All the time. But the reality is, success isn’t created by talent alone. Just like we might see immense talent squandered, we also see underdogs unexpectedly overachieve. Here are 10 behaviors that we can always control that require zero talent yet have a huge impact on our success.
1. Being on time. Punctuality is a keystone habit that requires organization and planning ahead—both of which lead to greater success. Here’s a good primer on why being on time is important and how anyone can make it a habit.
2. Work ethic. This is the discipline of showing up consistently and making the best decisions that lead to peak performance. Even at the pinnacle of his career, basketball superstar Kobe Bryant’s work ethic was legendary. Kevin Durant recalls the message a veteran Kobe sent the younger players at Olympic Trials back in 2008, just after Durant’s first year in the league. The players were given a day off, but there was Kobe, the only veteran getting on the bus to go work out at a high school gym. “He made 50 shots at each spot around the 3-point line,” Durant recalls. “We just looked down there and said, man, he’s the best player in the league and he took a bus to a high school to get some work in. It’s that work ethic that Kobe embraced throughout his career to become one of the all-time greats. As Kobe said after getting drafted straight out of high school in 1996, “I don’t want (fans) to think I’m just a high school kid coming in here thinking the world owes me something. I’m going to go out there and I’m going to work.”
3. Effort. Few athletes worked as hard as major league pitcher John Smoltz, who is now in the Baseball Hall of Fame. As his agent, I saw him extend his career by years through sheer effort and commitment. He made up his mind to make changes along the way, like going from starter to closer, that kept him in the game as a valuable contributor to his team. Effort is a mindset as much as it is a behavior.
4. Body language. How you move and express yourself around others shapes who you are and how you are perceived. Anyone can improve, and here’s a TED talk that explains why and how.
5. Energy. Everyone has energy to devote to a goal, and the decision of how much to give. Be conscious about where yours goes.
6. Attitude. It’s up to you to keep going. No one else can decide that. A great attitude maximizes the talent that you do have and offsets what you lack.
7. Passion. Perhaps the single most important way each one of us can suffocate the fear that keeps us from peak performance.
8. Being coachable. Anyone can become a better listener, learn from feedback, and embrace the success of others.
9. Doing extra. Go the extra mile. I saw it all the time with the athletes I worked with. The ones who sustained their success were the ones who consistently worked at their craft beyond what was required. That extra work and preparation fosters confidence. We can all learn from this approach and exceed our own expectations.
10. Being prepared. Only you can give yourself the time and space to be as ready as you can be. Make it a habit, and you will make the most of your talent. There is great truth in the saying: Failing to prepare is preparing to fail.
Your Game Changer Takeaway
Remember that talent is never enough. The best of the best don’t rest on what they were born with—they dig down to get the most they can. Try these 10 things (or just one!) and over time it will pay off.

CCTV

Nothing is more common in life than unsuccessful people with talent.In my role as life coach/motivation speaker,I am often asked this.Why did I not succeed?
Is there any formula to success?What are my deficiencies?How do I find out where I lacked?
My answer is:focus a CCTV on yourself.Only,this is a different type of CCTV.
Here it goes:

1.C = COMMITMENT

2.C = CAPABILITY

3.T = TOOLS

4.V = VISION

Failure occurs at one or more than one deficiencies in above.

Am I DEFINITELY committed to the goal I wish to reach?How badly do I want it?Do I want it as badly as a man under water wants air?

Am I capable enough ?I want to sing like Kishore Kumar.I am desperately committed to it.But my voice would wake up the dead and make screeching tyres sound musical.I want to write the greatest life force novel after Atlas Shrugged.But MY knowledge of English language is class X level.Dead end.

Do I have the tools to accomplish my task?Iwant to start the great NGO for women empowerment.But my funds are not enough to hire a basic office.Or that there are no fellow volunteers.I want to be a great tax professional.But I do not have the case law software.Bye bye dreams.

And finally.Do I have the vision?The macro image of my goal,its scope,its impact,to boldly see myself going where no one has gone before?

You have the answer.

WHY MARRIAGES DON'T WORK.WON'T WORK

I COME STRAIGHT TO THE PROPOSITION AND THE CONCLUSION.

A MARRIAGE IS A SYSTEM OF RECIPROCAL OBLIGATIONS SANCTIFIED BY SOCIETY AND ENFORCED BY LAW.
THAT IS WHY.

ELEMENT OF COMPULSION IS ALIEN TO PRISTINE HUMAN NATURE.THAT IS WHY IN HISTORY OF MANKIND ONLY PASSION HAS WORKED AND COMPULSION HAS NOT.LOOK AT THE GREAT DISCOVERIES,THE GREAT INVENTIONS,THE TRUE MASTERPIECES OF ART,THE GREAT SONGS......ALL WORKS OF PASSION,OF SELF WILLED DEDICATION,GENETIC EXCELLENCE.....THE MAN WHO SAID NECESSITY IS THE MOTHER OF INVENTION DID NOT HAVE THE FAINTEST IDEA OF WHAT HE WAS TALKING ABOUT.CREATIVITY IS THE MOTHER OF INVENTION.

THAT DONE AND DUSTED,TRY MY PROPOSITION IN EVERY MARITAL DISCORD .EVEN COHABITATION,(SO SWEETLY CALLED LIVE IN BY THE NOW GENERATION ) DOES NOT WORK.WHY?BECAUSE RECIPROCITY OF OBLIGATIONS KILLS IT.WHEN I GET A ''RIGHT TO EXPECT''IT SUBSTITUTES THE  NATURAL PLEASURE I HAD WHEN HE /SHE DID THE SAME FOR ME OUT OF FREE WILL AND ''SENSE OF DUTY/RESPONSIBILITY''IS THE COMPELLING FORCE THE OTHER SIDE..

WHAT ABOUT MARRIAGES THAT WORK?WONDER WHICH ONES DO?AND PRESUMING A MINISCULE MIRACULOUS PERCENTAGE DO,LOOK FOR THE OBLIGATION SYSTEM IN IT.LOOK HARD.YOU WONT FIND IT.

ARE WE THEN DESTINED/DOOMED TO BE ALONE?
BUT THEN THAT IS A SUBJECT MATTER OF SOME OTHER LITERARY MISADVENTURE OF MINE.
SO LONG.
P.S.MEANWHILE.WATCH ''MY FAIR LADY''AGAIN.

DEFINING A LIFETIME

                      HEAL
Take my mind And take my pain
Like an empty bottle takes the rain
And heal, heal, heal, heal

And take my past And take my sins
Like an empty sail takes the wind
And heal, heal, heal, heal

And tell me somethings last
And tell me somethings last

Take a heart And take a hand
Like an ocean takes the dirty sand

And heal, heal, heal, heal

Take my mind And take my pain
Like an empty bottle takes the rain

And heal, heal, heal, heal
And tell me somethings last

LOVE

IS LOVE REALLY THE FINEST HUMAN SENTIMENT?

OR LOVE IS ACTUALLY A EVOLUTIONARY TRICK TO MAKE US PROCREATE?

HUMAN BEINGS ARE SO GENETICALLY PROGRAMMED THAT THEY CAN SUSTAIN A RELATIONSHIP FOR A PERIOD OF 3-5 YEARS.THE PROCREATION PROCESS IS OVER BY THEN. AND SO IS LOVE.

TAKE CARE.

LITTLE TALKS ABOUT LIFE:A LESSON FROM A CHILD.

Today is probably the coldest day of the season in Jabalpur.As I approached one of its main commercial hubs, Gorakhpur, for a household errand I saw a small boy 7-8 years of age wearing a headgear-and loaded with a local two page evening newspaper-must be carrying at least 100,so much that he was almost getting crushed under their weight.I was a bit irritable –usual reaction after an average day in office-then he accosted me with a pleading look-Üncle paper loge kya’’-I gestured impatiently to the shop I had to go to,muttering under my breath and started walking off.He ran behind me-‘’Uncle ,laut kar loge kya’’-inspite of myself a small smile started to make its way from my heart to my lips.I walked off,silently.Did my errand,the humble brown  bread-and started climbing down the stairs of the shopping complex-there he was-again-this time with hope in his voice’’Uncle’’ he started to speak.I said ‘’kyon,aaj newspaper bikey nahi’’-‘’not even one’’-he replied.I said-‘’okay.kitne ka hai’’.’’do rupiya’’-he replied.I said-‘’achcha,de do’’.I fished in my purse but I had only a five rupee coin-I gave that to him.He looked at it and said-‘’çhillar nahi hai’’.I said’’theek hai beta,rakh lo’’.A smile spread across his face-‘’thank you uncle’’-he said.
I walked to my car,the irritation all gone,my faith reaffirmed in triumph of human spirit over destined adversities,smiling inspite of life’s irritants-.This young boy,uneducated in finer nuances of philosophy,struggling-maybe for his family-for that elusive good meal-that shoe he coveted-that school he dreamt of.And still-braving the chilly winds and insensitive people.I felt tiny in front of him the whole 6 foot plus frame of mine.We are in a mad rush-that corner office,the swanky cellphone,the fur coat,that promotion,-and in contrast there he was-all existence centered around a badly printed two page newspaper.
BUT THE REAL WORTH AND DEFINITION OF HUMAN LIFE I LEARNT FROM MY UNINTENDING LITTLE NEWSPAPER BOY TEACHER-this spirit is what human life is all about.The real story of our life is in these small human transactions.Value them.
As for my little newspaper boy-I intend to buy that newspaper I will probably never read-every single chilly evening I buy that brown bread.
